The contents of this database have been compiled from those of the hard-copy volumes Bibliography of Research on the Classics, 1912-1987, Bibliography of Research on the Classics, 1988-1992, and Bibliography of Research on the Classics, 1993-1997, published in 1989, 1999, and 2002, respectively. The bibliographical volumes were edited by Professor Ching-Chang Lin (Institute of Chinese Literature and Philosophy, Academia Sinica) on behalf of the Center for Chinese Studies. The materials collected here encompass research by scholars from Taiwan, Mainland China, and Japan from 1912 to 1997, and consist of monographs, journal articles, dissertations, conference papers, and newspaper articles on subjects related to the Classics, totaling over 59,000 entries.
