Gateways to the World: International Series of Taiwan Literature Online Workshops臺灣文學的誕生，除了在地風土條件的觸發，也是在與東亞、乃至與世界文藝思潮的接觸中孕育而來。透過臺灣文學創作史，可以清楚看到文人、作家，積極吸納世界思潮和文藝美學，逐步形構出與世界共在、同步的精彩面向；或是隨著世界重大歷史事件的出現，基於對某些議題的關心，進而寫出全球化下的地方經驗，清楚彰顯臺灣文學介入瞬息萬變「世界中」的與時俱進狀態。因此，在這層意義上，可以得知臺灣文學的存在與發展，實際具有與世界共振、共鳴和對話的能力。且，長期以來，臺灣的文學家們莫不以躋身世界文學之林為壯志，例如早在1934年集結臺灣作家而成的「臺灣文藝聯盟」，在機關雜誌《臺灣文藝》創刊號上，就曾暢言：「把臺灣的一切路線築向到全世界的心臟去！看我們的藝術之花在世界心臟上開放吧！」作家們的目標不僅是要臺灣與全世界路線相連，更展現出對於臺灣自我文藝能力的高度肯定，認為要前進到世界的心臟，並在那裡開出美麗的花朵。more
