外交部於2010年成立「臺灣獎助金」，旨在鼓勵全球對臺灣、兩岸關係、中國大陸、亞太區域及漢學研究等社會科學及人文領域有興趣之專家學者來我國各大學校院或學術機構進行研究，促進學術交流。
「臺灣獎助金」2016年度於5月1日至7月15日受理申請，申請人請利用線上申請系統（請點此連結）填寫申請表及上傳相關文件。提交申請表後，請將所有申請文件之正本至遲於7月16日前寄至申請人之中華民國駐外館處。
※申請資格：國外大學相關系所之外籍教授、副教授、助理教授、博士後研究、博士候選人、博士生或學術機構同等級別之研究人員。
※獎助期限：三個月至一年（研究期間為2017年1月至12月）
※申請文件：1.申請表、2. 簡歷表（含著作目錄）、3. 研究計畫〈以3頁英文為原則，依學術研究體例撰寫〉、4. 推薦信兩份或推薦信乙份及任職單位最高行政主管同意函乙份。
※截止日期：2016年7月15日
※獎助項目：提供經濟艙直飛來回機票乙張及每月研究補助費
教授、副教授級每月NT$ 60,000
助理教授、博士候選人級每月NT$ 50,000

Apply Online for the Taiwan Fellowship from May 1 to July 15.
The Taiwan Fellowship is established by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in 2010 to encourage foreign experts and scholars in the fields of social sciences and humanities interested in researches related to Taiwan, cross-strait relations, mainland China, Asia-Pacific region and Chinese studies to conduct advanced research at universities or academic institutions in Taiwan.
The application period in 2016 for the Taiwan Fellowship is from May 1 to July 15. Please go to Online Application (http://taiwanfellowship.ncl.edu.tw/eng/apply01.aspx) and fill in the application form and upload relevant documents. By submitting, please send all the official copies of your application documents to your R.O.C (Taiwan) Embassy or Representative Office by July 16.
※ Eligibility: foreign nationals who are professors, associate professors, assistant professors, post-doctoral researchers, doctoral candidates, or doctoral program students at related departments of overseas universities, or are research fellows at an equivalent level in academic institutions abroad
※ Grant period: three months to one year (research period should be from January to December in 2017.)
※Application documents: 1. application form, 2. resume (including a publication list), 3. research proposal(in English with three pageswritten by academic format ), 4. Two letters of recommendation or one letter of recommendation and the consent letter of current employment singed by CEO
※ Deadline: July 15, 2016
※ Financial assistance: one direct round-trip economy-class ticket and monthly grant
