2025 Foreign Scholars Library Workshop (5) Library Services & Resource

To promote deeper understanding and more effective utilization of Taiwan’s academic resources among international scholars, the National Central Library convened the fifth session of its Library Instructions for Foreign Scholars initiative on August 27, 2025. The session was held in the briefing room of the National Central Library and led by Dr. Ling-Fang Wei, Head of the Materials Division at the Center for Chinese Studies. Titled “Introduction to Library Resources & Services,” the workshop provided general guidance on using the library catalog, journal databases, the NTLTD in Taiwan, and NBINet. It also introduced the Electronic Resource Management (ERM) platform, which offers access to various databases both on-site and remotely, and highlighted tools for locating Taiwan-published materials and utilizing document delivery services.

Participants raised questions based on their research experiences and scheduled individual consultations to explore field-specific resources. A total of 15 scholars from eight countries attended. The session concluded successfully at noon.
