Collection Priorities for Chinese Studies Resources
1. Academic books, periodicals, and electronic databases in Chinese Studies published in mainland China and international;
2. Theses and dissertations related to Chinese Studies from mainland China and abroad;
3. Photocopies of Chinese texts held overseas;
4. Local historical and cultural resources from mainland China, including local gazetteers, yearbooks, and documentary collections
5. Academic publications in the fields of literature, history, philosophy, and the social sciences from Mainland China.
Access to Chinese Studies Resources, Reference Services, and Utilization of Resources
The Center for Chinese Studies Reading Room and the Matteo Ricci Pacific Reading Room, located on the sixth floor of the library, provide access to collections and offer reference inquires.
1. Circulation service
On-site access to open-stack collections allows users to browse and retrieve materials directly. Closed-stack materials are available upon request, with circulation services. The Division also offers new book announcements and thematic book displays.
2. Reference service
Provides information retrieval services and library instruction. Provides recommendations for international digital resources in Chinese Studies.
3. Reservation of Chinese Studies research carrels
Provides eight reservable Chinese Studies research carrels for use by visiting scholars supported by the Center.
