The Center for Chinese Studies (CCS), administered by the National Central Library (NCL), is pleased to announce the call for applications for two research grants for the year 2026: the Research Grant for Foreign Scholars in Chinese Studies (外籍學人來臺研究漢學獎助) and the MOFA Taiwan Fellowship(外交部臺灣獎助金).

The CCS administers both of these programs.

Applications for the 2026 Research Grant for Foreign Scholars in Chinese Studies are open, with a deadline of May 31, 2025. All application materials for the Research Grant must be submitted electronically or by air mail no later than this date. Notification of the Selection Committee's decisions will be sent by the end of August.

Applications for the 2026 MOFA Taiwan Fellowship, which CCS administers on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Taiwan (R.O.C.), will be accepted between May 1 to June 30, 2025. All application materials for the Research Grant must be submitted electronically or by air mail no later than this date. Notification of the Taiwan Fellowship’s Selection Committee's decisions will be announced and sent out to all applicants between October and the end of November of 2025.
