On Tuesday, June 25th, 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) held the ‘2024 MOFA Taiwan Fellowship Presentation I’ at the National Central Library’s presentation room. The presentation subject was the ‘Values Concerning Democracy and Freedom in Bilateral Relations and Partnership Cooperation. The opening speech was given by Deputy Minister Tien, Chung-kwang. The conference’s host was MOFA’s Consul General Hsiang, Ming-Teh.
The first speaker was Dr. Kaewkamol Pitakdumrongkit (S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Singapore) whose topic was ‘Aligning ASEAN and Taiwan's Economic Agendas in the post-Taiwanese Election and the Shadow of US-China Tensions’.
The second speaker was Prof. John Hennessey-Niland whose topic was ‘Taiwan–a Model of Democracy and Key Partner in the Indo Pacific’.
The third speaker was Dr. Blanka Brzozowska (Institute of Economics, University of Lodz, Poland) whose topic was ‘Taiwan’s Soft Power in Polish Social Media’.
The presentation also invited Prof. Wang, Hung-Jen (National Cheng Kung University) and Assistant Prof. (Tony) Liu, Tai-Ting (Graduate Institute of International Politics, National Chung Hsing University). Both provided their viewpoints on the three speakers’ topic and led the discussion with the public. Alongside many other participants from across the globe. The presentation had a total of thirty-six scholars from eighteen countries participating. There were also eight academic experts from within the country and an additional sixteen participants from MOFA who also took part in the discussion.
